How to specify
Four decisions turn a flooring line item into a tender-ready system
Work top to bottom. Each step points at the products in this page that close it out, so the pack you send to the client is complete before the first sample leaves the factory.
- 01
Read the building, not the brochure
An ICU ward, a school corridor and a cleanroom put different demands on wear layer, seam integrity and detailing.
- 02
Lock the main material first
Homogeneous sheet where iodine resistance and welded seams drive the spec; heterogeneous where a 0.3–0.5 mm wear layer balances budget.
- 03
Match substrate and adhesive
Levelling compound flattens the screed; the adhesive grade must resist plasticiser migration so sheet never blisters.
- 04
Close every edge, corner and step
Skirting, cove, capping, nosings, treads, handrails and corner guards are what the client touches — and what snag lists are written about.
Project build-ups
Four building types, four compatible specifications
Each build-up is a complete, orderable combination — main material, bonding system, perimeter detail, stairwell safety and wall protection.

The five categories
Every product a resilient floor tender asks for, in one index
Grouped by where it sits in the build-up, not by factory. Flooring is supplied under UNITECH NEXUS; accessories, adhesives, stairwell and wall protection under GREEN POINT; the manufacturer behind both is SHANGHAI UNITECH PLASTIC.
Vinyl Flooring
Homogeneous NEXUS sheet where iodine resistance, class T abrasion performance and welded seam integrity carry the specification; heterogeneous Wildwood where a 0.3–0.5 mm pure PVC wear layer balances cost in high-footfall teaching and office interiors.

Homogeneous PVC Flooring NEXUS 6606
- 2.0 mm homogeneous vinyl sheet
- Roll format 2 m × 20 m
- Welded seams, UV-cured PUR surface

Homogeneous Plastic Flooring NEXUS 6615
- 2.0 mm homogeneous sheet
- Iodine- and antiseptic-resistant surface
- EN ISO 10581, class T wear rating

Heterogeneous Vinyl Floor Wildwood
- Heterogeneous vinyl sheet
- 0.3 mm / 0.5 mm pure PVC wear layer
- Stain-resistant, UV-protected print
Selection notes
- Homogeneous sheet is the default for healthcare: the wear layer runs through the full thickness, so abrasion never exposes a printed film.
- Classify the traffic before choosing thickness — 0.3 mm wear layers suit office and teaching areas, 0.5 mm suits entrance zones and heavy trolley traffic.
- Every sheet here is dimensioned for the same GREEN POINT cove and capping profiles, so the perimeter detail does not change when the flooring does.
Resilient Flooring Accessories
The perimeter and transition details that turn sheet flooring into a continuous hygienic envelope — skirting, coved turn-ups, and aluminium capping where the sheet stops against a door frame, column or glazed partition.

Flexible PVC Skirting
- 100 mm / 120 mm commercial heights
- Toe profile for floor and cable clearance
- Roll packed, low seam count, OEM colours

Aluminum Capping Strip
- 6063-T5 aluminium alloy
- 2.5 m / 3.8 m standard lengths
- Mill finish or anodised

PVC Cove Former
- E15 / E38 radius profiles
- Seamless sheet-to-wall cove base
- Bonds under the capping strip
Selection notes
- Specify skirting and cove before the flooring is laid — the cove former is bedded into the same adhesive bed as the sheet.
- Use aluminium capping wherever the sheet ends in open air; a radius cove alone will not hold the edge at a door reveal.
- 100 mm is the commercial default; move to 120 mm where trolleys and cleaning machines run tight against the wall.
Self-Leveling & Adhesives
Substrate preparation and bonding. A dated, uneven or damp screed will telegraph through any sheet, so the levelling compound and the adhesive grade are specified together with the flooring — not after it.

Vinyl Floor Adhesive
- Water-based acrylic, zero solvent
- High initial grab for large open floors
- Plasticiser resistant, LEED compliant

Self Leveling Compound
- Fast-drying, high compressive strength
- Crack-resistant underlayment
- Levels new and refurbished screeds

ESD Vinyl Floor Glue
- Conductive adhesive for ESD systems
- For grounded conductive sheet and tile
- Consistent conductivity across the field
Selection notes
- Never substitute a general-purpose adhesive under homogeneous sheet; plasticiser migration shows up as blistering six to twelve months after handover.
- An ESD system only performs if earthing is designed at the same time — the adhesive is one component of the conductive path.
- Let the levelling compound dry to the manufacturer's moisture limit before bonding, and record the reading in the handover pack.
Stairwell Management
Where a building's safety audits are won or lost. Nosings and treads carry the impact loads, the cleaning chemicals and the full footfall of the escape route — and they are the first item the client points at on a walk-through.

Aluminum Stair Nosing
- Embedded carborundum or anti-slip insert
- Mechanically anchored into the tread
- Compatible with sheet and tile finishes

Vinyl PVC Stair Nosing
- PVC profile, colour-matched to the floor
- Protects the stair edge from impact
- Interior stair flights and landings

Rubber Stair Treads
- 1200 × 320 × 4 mm, ribbed solid rubber
- Pure black or black with yellow leading edge
- Heavy-load, tear-resistant compound
Selection notes
- Nosing is a safety item, not a trim: it has to be mechanically fixed, never bonded alone.
- Quote the stair by number of flights, tread width and nosing length — stairwells are usually the line item that blows a budget after tender.
- Outdoor or half-open stair cores need a different fixing and material strategy from internal flights; flag it at enquiry stage.
Wall Protection Systems
Hospital corridors take more impact from beds, trolleys and cleaning machinery than the floor does. Handrails, wall guards and corner guards absorb that impact before the substrate — and the client's maintenance budget — is damaged.

B138 Flat Handrail
- Aluminium core 1.2 / 1.4 / 1.6 mm
- PVC shell 1.6 / 2.0 mm, antibacterial
- Integrated wall protection bumper

D150/D200 Horizontal Wall Guard
- Horizontal wall protection band
- Set out on the same datum as the handrail
- Absorbs trolley and bed impact

High Impact Rigid PVC Wall Corner Guards
- High-impact rigid PVC body
- Protects corners from daily traffic
- Integrates with handrail and guard runs
Selection notes
- Choose the aluminium core thickness by corridor use: 1.2 mm for staff and admin areas, 1.4–1.6 mm where beds and trolleys are pushed.
- Handrail, wall guard and corner guard must be set out on the same datum line, otherwise the corridor reads as a patchwork.
- Confirm the shell specification with the infection-control team — antibacterial PVC is normally a tender requirement in healthcare.

FAQ
Questions buyers ask about this selection center
01 What exactly is the Product Selection & Compatibility Center?
It is a specification index rather than a plain product listing. Fifteen flagship products from three brands — UNITECH NEXUS flooring, GREEN POINT accessories and adhesives, with SHANGHAI UNITECH PLASTIC as the manufacturing entity — are grouped into five categories and matched to four building types: hospitals, schools, cleanrooms and office buildings.
02 How do I use this page to specify a complete floor system?
Start from the building type in the project build-ups section, then work through the four steps: main material, substrate preparation and adhesive, perimeter trims and cove, and finally stairwell and wall protection. Every product card opens the full product page with technical data, dimensions and packing details.
03 Are the products in each category tested together as one system?
Yes. Each flooring sheet is matched with GREEN POINT adhesives, cove formers, capping strips and skirtings that are dimensioned for the same sheet thicknesses and wear layers, so welded seams, coving and trims line up without on-site modification. Where an international reference applies it is stated on the product card — for example EN ISO 10581 class T for homogeneous sheet.
04 Can I order accessories only, or combine them with flooring from another supplier?
Both are possible. Accessories and adhesives are supplied as independent lines, and most GREEN POINT trims, stair nosings and wall protection systems are dimensioned to work with standard 2.0 mm sheet and 0.3–0.5 mm wear-layer products, not only with NEXUS. Send us the flooring you have already specified and we will confirm the matching profile and adhesive grade before you order.
05 How do I get pricing, samples and technical documents for a project?
Use the contact link at the end of this page and send the project location, total area, building type and the combination you have selected. The specification team replies with project pricing, TDS and SDS files, CAD details and installation guidance, and can ship a sample kit of matched flooring, skirting, cove and stair profiles for approval.
Specify the whole build-up with one team
Send the building type, the area and the combination you are considering. We come back with a matched bill of materials across flooring, adhesive, trims, stairwell and wall protection — plus samples for approval before the order is placed.
