OEM/ODM Custom Manufacturing for Vinyl Flooring & Profiles
A catalogue is a starting point; a private label is a supply chain. This page sets out exactly how a custom order runs through the factory — the six steps, the tooling you pay for and the point at which it comes back, the minimum order that applies to each order type, and the terms that hold when a project changes.
- 6 steps to container
- 7–10 days tooling
- 7–15 days production
- 300 m minimum order
The six-step workflow
From your drawing to a loaded container in six steps
Every custom order runs on the same track. The day counts are working days and start when we have what we need from you — not when the enquiry lands.
- 01
Needs and drawing review
You send CAD drawings, a physical sample or the colour standard in Pantone or RAL. We come back on engineering feasibility — section, tolerance, and whether the profile can be extruded as drawn.
- 02
Tooling design and first samples
The die is cut and the first physical sample lengths are run from it, so what you approve is what the die will actually produce.
- 03
Sample approval and revisions
The first sample set ships free by DHL or FedEx. Up to two rounds of minor revisions are free as well; if you change the base design, the further tooling change is charged.
- 04
Contract and deposit
The approved sample is signed and sealed as the production reference, and the contract fixes the deposit at 30–50 % of the order value.
- 05
Mass production and inspection
The run is held to ISO 9001 in-process patrol inspection, and outgoing sampling covers dimensions, tensile strength and abrasion resistance. A COA report is issued with the goods.
- 06
Inspection and container loading
SGS, BV or an inspector you nominate can attend before the balance is settled. Loading, customs declaration and departure follow clearance of the balance.
Tooling, MOQ and lead time
What a custom order costs, and when the tooling pays you back
Extrusion tooling is the only fixed cost in a custom order. It is priced per set by how complex the section is, and it is designed to be recovered rather than carried.
| Order type | Minimum order | What happens first | Production lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stock specificationexisting range | 300–500 m | Specification and colour confirmed, no tooling | 7–15 days |
| Custom colourRAL / Pantone matched | 1,000–2,000 m | Colour matched and approved before the run | 7–15 days |
| New toolingnew section from your drawing | 3,000 m or 1 mixed container | Die cut in 7–10 days, then samples signed | 7–15 days after sample approval |
Tooling: USD 500–1,500 per set, refunded in cash
- Standard extrusion dies for aluminium or PVC profiles cost about USD 500–1,500 per set; the figure moves with the complexity of the section.
- Once cumulative orders on that tooling reach one 20 ft container or 10,000 m, the full tooling cost is refunded in cash.
- Lead times are counted from the day the deposit clears and the sample is signed — not from the day the enquiry arrives.
The 7–15 days is factory production time and excludes ocean transit; it assumes the deposit and the signed sample are already in place.
Quality control
What is checked, and who is allowed to check it
A private label puts your name on the profile, so the inspection record has to be worth more than a signature on a packing list.

Commercial terms
Quotation validity, project pricing and what happens if the order changes
Three commercial points decide how a custom project is priced, and how a change is handled once the die already exists.
| Term | What applies |
|---|---|
| Quotation validity | 30 days from issue. Beyond that the order is re-costed against raw material and ocean freight movement. |
| Project pricing | Annual purchases above USD 200,000, or a single container project order, can apply for factory project pricing. |
| Changes and cancellation | Before production: a written variation agreement. Once production has started, the buyer carries the custom raw material and work-in-progress already consumed. |
A colour change before the run is a schedule risk. A section change after the die is cut is a tooling cost as well — which is why step 03 gives you two free revision rounds before the die is frozen.
FAQ
Questions buyers ask before opening a custom order
01 What do you need from us to quote a custom profile?
CAD drawings, a physical sample, or the colour standard in Pantone or RAL. Engineering feasibility comes back in 1–2 working days; if the section can be extruded as drawn, tooling and the first physical samples take a further 7–10 working days.
02 How many sample rounds do we get, and who pays the courier?
The first sample set is free and ships by DHL or FedEx. Two rounds of minor revisions are free as well. If you change the base design, that is a new tooling change and it is charged.
03 What is the minimum order for a custom colour or a new profile?
Stock specifications start at 300–500 m. A colour matched to RAL or Pantone is 1,000–2,000 m. A brand-new section produced from your own die is 3,000 m, or one mixed container.
04 Is the tooling cost refundable?
Yes. Standard extrusion dies for aluminium or PVC profiles run about USD 500–1,500 per set depending on section complexity, and the full amount is refunded in cash once cumulative orders on that tooling reach one 20 ft container or 10,000 m.
05 How fast can mass production start, and how long does a quotation hold?
Production runs in 7–15 days, counted from the day the deposit clears and the sample is signed. A quotation holds for 30 days; after that it is re-costed against raw material and ocean freight.
Send the drawing; the quote comes back with tooling, MOQ and dates
Attach the CAD file or a photo of the profile you want matched, tell us the annual volume and the destination port. The quotation comes back with the tooling cost, the MOQ per colour, the production lead time, and the volume at which the tooling is refunded.
